The International Dutch Oven Society was conceived in 1984 by Dick Michaud, Mike and Juanita Kohler, Wallace and Pat Kohler, and Ron Jones.It was started after the 'Great American Dutch Oven Cook-off,' in Logan, Utah had been held for five years with great success. In 1990 the IDOS was officially registered in Utah. Based in Logan, Utah, there are members all over the United States, Canada, and several countries.
